Apicectomies

An apicectomy is a surgical-endodontic procedure – involving the reduction of the tip (apical) portion of a root. This is usually done after a failed root canal treatment and involves the sealing of the infected root tip area with a biocompatible material. This procedure is usually carried out under local anaesthetic.
